I like the ending. It gave me the same sense of hopelessness that a lot of TED talks give me, particularly the ones that introduce some amazing theory of how to save the world or cure cancer, but really offer no plan or structure for their implementation. Purely masturbatory.

We are going to use THORIUM to power our powerplants! Thorium grows on trees and is found everywhere in nature. Anyone with 250 in mining can ride their skeleton horse through the plaguelands and come across tons of the stuff.
What? You need super heated salt water to actually cause the chemical reaction required to extract power from the thorium? And you go on to say that the superheated saltwater concoction is highly corrosive and impossible/improbable to ever contain without super expensive material that would need to constantly be replaced? Yeah, lets just leave that little tidbit of joy out, sort of a downer to end on, huh?
